Fachgruppe Methoden & Evaluation

The Methods Section was set up in 1992 at the suggestion of colleagues Bodo Krause (Berlin), Klaus Kubinger (Vienna), Jürgen Rost (Kiel) and Rolf Steyer (Jena).

Tasks

The tasks of the Methods Section include, in particular, documentation and information on methodological research, the organisation of conferences, the promotion of methodological research and the inclusion of methodological topics in the curricula of universities and universities of applied sciences.

Aims

The Methods and Evaluation Section is an interest group within the German Psychological Society, DGPs (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie). The Section was founded in 1992 and currently has 384 members. Its central tasks include the promotion and dissemination of empirical research and evaluation methods. In this context, the development and application of statistical methods plays an important role. The psychological fields for which psychological research methods are of great importance include research into psychological intervention measures, the development and application of diagnostic tests and the analysis of psychological-experimental test designs. 

Membership

Anyone who is a full or associate member of the German Psychological Society can become a member of the Section. Membership is acquired by informing the Treasurer of the German Psychological Society of your membership of the Section Methods and Evaluation.
